L1B extension doubt

Hi,

I have few doubts in my L1B extension process.

1. My petition expiration date is 01-Oct-2010. If I apply for extension now and in case it gets rejected. Do I have to leave the country on the date my extension is rejected? or I can stay till 01-oct-2010 ( my I94 expiry date as well)

2. After how long we can re-apply for extension?
