A question on visa extension

Hello Team,

I have great respect and admiration for your site and the work you do to keep us all updated with excellent, easy, up-to-date information on all topics related to immigration. The answer to my question - I think I have found it but I want to be double sure on it.

Q - I am L1-B visa an my I-94 & 3 year expires in June' 2010. My company is planning to file an extension for me for me. Just in case my extension plea is rejected - how many days I will have to leave US? Is it 30 days? Or I have to leave within a week or on same day?

No grace period. Immediately.

I saw in your website only that there is no official grace period. But generally people can have 30 days time to leave US gracefully. Is it not true?

You are illegal from the moment your visa extension is denied.


30 days grace period is only the time before they forcefully kick you out. That is not for being in status.
