Apply for EAD while L2 Extension is in progress

Hi,

Please help me with the below query -
I am on L2 dependent and my i94 expired in December 2019. We had applied for extension (L1A and L2) together in December under premium processing. Recently we received a notification from USCIS that my husbands i.e. L1A extension has been approved. The status of my extension i.e. form i-539 is pending (case was updated to show finger prints were taken). Could you please clarify if i can apply for EAD while my L2 visa (i-539) extension is still in progress.

Also can you clarify when can i expect a decision on my i-539?

The I539 decision is taking long time now-a-days. If you have valid visa, you can simply go out of USA (to Canada/Mexico/Caribbean) & re-enter to get your renewed I94.

You can file for your EAD right now, but its approval will be mostly after your L2 extension approval only.
