  • L1B Blanket Extension

    Hi All.

My L1B visa expired on May 29th and my company have applied the extension. I have approved H1B from 2019 as consular processing and was scheduled for stamping but due to COVID couldn’t get the stamping done, so applied an extension on L1B. My questions what are the chances of getting L1B approved as I read there are high rate of rejections, any recent L1B blanket extension approvals? Also what should we do if the L1B gets rejected with the travel restrictions shall I apply for B2 visa will it impact the H1B stamping in near future. Appreciate your response. Thanks.

I am in a similar situation. You can stay in US for 240 days while your extension application is under process and in worst case scenario if things go south with your L1B extension, you can always go and get your H1B stamped. Hopefully, travel restrictions will ease down in next 240 days.

Thanks for your reply. Have you applied your extension under premium processing.

In current situation, I would not recommend to apply for extension in premium - If at all it is rejected, you'll have to file for COS to B2 or leave the country asap.

Thanks for your reply. I have applied under normal processing. Any recent approvals on L1B extension.
