Can L1 holder work from client premises?

Hi,

My company is going to sponsor L1 for me. During the assignment, I will be working mainly out of my company office, but I may need to work out of client offices at times. My question is, am I eligible to work from client premises? I read somewhere that to be eligible to work from client premises with L1 visa, the petition has to be filed differently.
