  • L2 visa exp. date doesn't match L1 exp. date and principal applicant name

My wife and I were approved our L1-b and L2 visas.
But annotation part has wrong P.A. name in it and exp. date is 13JAN2023. L1 visa has exp.date 13JAN2024
I returned passports to the consulate and they told me that they will correct the P.A. name but the date was placed automatically and is ok.
Is the consulate right? Are there any cases when L2 expires one year erlier than L1?

Visa is merely for entry purpose into USA. Mostly the visa expiry date matches to the petition expiry date. But it can happen that the dates are not in sync. You can anytime file for renewal of your visa - but it is not needed if you are staying within USA.
