  • Attorney has lost I-797A of my L1A approval. Is it a big issue ?

    Hello,
My employer's immigration attorney has lost the original I-797A of my L1A approval.

They have provided a scanned copy (not colored and ver clear though) and filed for I-824 (duplicate approval notice).

Has anyone else been in this situation ?

Any issues while living in US (US Driving License, India passport renewal, bank paper work, notaries etc.) or when traveling to India (Visa stamping, CBP interview at Reentry )?

Can i do anything against the attorney apart from escalating to my HR Leadership ?

    Hi,
Normally, when you go for visa stamping, you dont require original Approval notice. With the help of photo copy, you can move forward. But, At the time of CBP verification, they may or may not ask original Approval notice.
And regarding DL renewal, It depend upon state. Few of the state DL departments are asking Original approval notices in order to renew the DL.
Under FOIA, you can directly contact USCIS to get the duplicate copy of approval notice.
    Thanks
