Hello, looking for a better understanding of my time away from the US and my visa. Situation below.
Transferred internally to the USA in 2014 under an L1a Visa, spent my initial 3 years, and then received a 2-year extension. In the middle of my 2-year extension, I was transferred back to Canada. I only spent 18 months in Canada and was transferred back to the USA once again under an L1a and received an initial 3 years and I am being told that due to my time away the clock resets and I get another 7 year period. All of my research shows that this could be incorrect as your total time in the US under a L1 must not exceed 7 years total.
I would appreciate it if someone could shed some light on the actual amount of time allowed and is there a "reset" switch?
