H1B to L2

My husband is in the US in L1 visa. I have a valid H1 and yet to travel (might travel via India employer). How soon can I switch from H1 to L2, again switch from L2 to H1 ( assuming after i reach US)? Is it Ok to switch visa as and when required?

If in H1, how soon should i find a job incase I want to switch jobs?

You can file Change of Status (COS) the very same day you land in USA, but approval of that change of status can take upto 6 months (though you can continue to stay in USA with pending COS).

On H1, I assume you already have a job in hand, again you can start searching the very same day you land in USA. Getting an job offer depends on your educational qualification, skills, etc.
