L1 Extension - urgent help needed

Hi,

I came here on L1 Blanket petition in Dec 2008 and visa is valid till jan 2011; inbetween i went to india for two weeks and returned in oct 2009. Now my i-94 is valid till oct 2012. when i ask to file extension, my company informed me that i can stay till oct 2012 as my i-94 is valid. After my visa expiry if i need to go to india and come back again what is the procedure to be followed? do i still need to file fresh blanket visa again from india?

You can stay in U.S as long as the I-94 is valid. If you were to exit u.S, then you will need a valid L1 visa to re-enter for which you need a valid petition which should be filed by your company.

can i apply for L1 Individual/H1 visa from here before i exit and get the approval?

I am not sure if your company can file a fresh L1 when you are already in L1 status. However, they can file H1B with or without a COS from L1 when you are in U.S.
