If we have H1b approval can new employer file new petition

Hi ,

I am currently on L1B from company A in US. I applied H1b from company B when i was in India (April 2010), H1B got approved in jan 2011. Now even with out joining with Company B can i work for new company C. If so what is process for company C or Only option to work for company C is after working for few months with company B need to apply for H1B Transfer ?
