  • I797C uscis typo error

    Hi,

My spouse changed her status from H1 to L1.
I received my 797C with L2 status in March.
    The 797C had following errors.
The validity dates were supposed to be March 2025 to Dec 2027, but USCIS done Typo as March 2027 to Dec 2027.
Second error is my year of birth typed wrong.

Clearly the errors are from USCIS.
I applied for correction with I-102 in April through attorney.
USCIS took more than a month and rejected the request stating I102 doesn't specify proper reason.

Again we submitted I102 in end of may. On June 2nd I got a status that G28 form is rejected for my case.

On doing more research I found G28 rejection doesn't meet case is closed. So I waited for more than 6 weeks, mean time my attorney says she resubmitted G28 and its accepted.
Im not able to see any change or update over my case.

But last week I did online chat over USCIS and requested to expedite my case as it is error from USCIS side.
Initially they didn't accept, but third time someone accepted this request can go for review.
They mentioned their officer will contact in 10days over phone. They said I need to prepare a letter of evidence. I didn't get details about what evidence to give as my original I797 is sent to them and it has all details.
Till now I didn’t hear back from them.

Is there anyway I can expedite this and get my I797 corrected, my attorney says it will take some time.
USCIS site states it takes time till Dec.

My existing I94 expires on Sep 30, not sure how to renew my drivers license and other things.

    Any suggestions please ?
    Thanks in advance.

As a visitor to the site and someone without legal training, I can share my opinion and advice regarding your situation. From what you have described, it appears that the errors in I-797C were indeed made by USCIS, and you have already tried twice to rectify the situation through I-102 and form G28. Unfortunately, bureaucracy often slows down the process in such cases, and even with the documents filled out correctly, it can take many weeks before you receive your updated status. While waiting for an official decision, you can try to optimize your work with documents and information using digital tools. For example, I saw a website called a browser that allows you to create different profiles for working with websites and managing multiple accounts at the same time. While this does not speed up USCIS's work, such a tool can help you keep all your online requests, correspondence, and documents in a convenient and isolated environment so that nothing gets lost and it is easier to track changes.
