Hello,
My original passport had an expiry of Dec'2011. The L-1 visa issued to me in India was valid till Mar'2013. The I-94 that I got on entering US on the L-1 was uptil Dec'2011 (my original passport expiry).
Unfortunately, before I could renew my passport, I lost my passport with the L-1 visa while I was in US. So I got a duplicate I-94 - uptil Dec'2011. My company now tells me that I have to file for L-1 extension because my I-94 is expring. My concern is why should I undergo the entire extension process, when my case is not that of a visa expiry, but it is a case of a lost visa? I'm not going to be able to return to India for a replacement visa so soon. Is there any alternative to my sitn. without having to go through the entire visa extension process?
