L1B to H1B

Hello,

I am in the US since 3 years and 3 month working on a L1B visa. my company extended
the visa for additional 2 years and the L1B will be max out in august 2013.
My company was applying for a green card for me but recently the lawyer told us that it takes 5-7 years
to get same with my education (no degree, only high school in germany and 10 years work
experience).
We are now checking to change from L1B to H1B.

Questions are:
is there a chance to change?
Are special skills or managerial skills required?
How long does the change take?

Also my company still would file for the green card for me, can I stay even after the 6 years
of H1B are max out and it was applied for the green card?

Yes, you can apply for H1 and it should not take much time if you go with premium processing.
No, you don't require any managerial skills for H1.

Once your I-140 is approved in GC process, you can stay even after 6 years of H1 are completed, where you cannot do that in case of L1.
