L2 visa for future

Hi,
My wife is planning to move to US by March with L1. I am moving to do MS by October. so can i attend visa interview with my wife and get a L2 visa then and enter US in a much later date? Or is it advisable to take the interview separately at a later stage?

Go for interview whenever it is convenient to you.

You can enter on L2 at any time within its validity duration.
