Valid I94 and Expired Visa

I am in US with L1 Visa stamp expiring in Dec 2012. My I94 is till Feb 2014. Is it legal to stay in US after my Visa expires with valid I94?
I heard that staying one day after Visa expires is not good (illegal) and will affect my future visits to US. Is it true? I appreciate your help.

No problem. Visa is a travel document. I-94 determines your period of permitted stay.

Yes it is Legal to Stay in US till your Valid I94 expiry date. But, However, once if you leave USA then you have to get the VISA stamping done before entering USA.
