  • I-94 lost- how to get it quickly?

    Hi,
My wife's (on L2 visa) passport got stolen along with the I-94 attached to it and we have a requirement to go back to India. I am here on a project and we are supposed to go back in around February 2012.
We have photocopies of her visa and I-94.
Can anybody please help me with the following questions:
    1) I understand I have to apply using form I-102 at USCIS and NOT at CBP (Customs & Border Protection)? But any idea how long it will take?
    2) Is there a faster way of getting it done?
    3) The I-102 form does not mention about any original copies to be submitted at the time of application. So, can we apply now itself or do we have to wait for her duplicate passport to be issued?
    4) Can we go back without an I-94 on emergency ? If yes, what happens if we have to go back and not come back in recent future? Does it mean she will never be able to come back to US in future if need be?

Would be grateful if I get to know the answers to my questions.

    Thanks & Regards,

Leave the US and don't bother about the I-94.
After she leaves, send copies of the I-94, boarding passes and a cover letter to CBP to the address in the following link.
Returning an Uncollected Form I-94 Back to U.S. Customs and Border Protection
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
