Wanted to visit UK while coming back from US.Please Help

Hi All,
I am holding L1 visa valid up to Feb 2015 .While coming back from US, I want to visit London. I don't have itinerary yet but planning to have one with UK stay for 2 days. Can you guys please tell me what are the process involved for getting UK transit visa? and how long will it take to get one?.

If you want to stay for 2 days, you will need Visitor Visa and not Transit Visa for the UK.
Check out UK Border Agency website, they have detailed information there. You can apply either in the US or while in your home country. Generally the complete process takes about 15 to 20 days.

They will need information on where you will stay, and having flight tickets, itinerary etc. is useful.
