Employement in India with L2 Visa

    Employement in India with L2 Visa

    My spouse had L1 visa and am planning to go to US under L2 Visa. I am planning to take loss of pay leave of 3 months and apply for EAD when I reach there. When the EAD is getting processed I will look for job in my current employer's US branch as I will be still be its employee. Is it ok for a L2 Visa holder to hold a employment in India?

    Yes, that is okay as long as you don't actually work without getting an EAD.

      Does the work mean "Work in US" only?

        Yes, you cannot work in U.S on L2 status without an approved EAD. What you do outside U.S is not an issue.

          Work (for any employer) while being physically present in the US is not allowed without EAD. Being on leave is okay.
