L1 goes for a vacation to India and L2 working in US

I am L1 visa holder and my spouse is on L2 EAD working for some company here. I am relased from the project with client and currently with the employer. They are looking for oppurtunities for me. If they don't find a project for me in some time, they will ask me to go bakc to India. But they may call me once they find some oppurtunities as I am a valid visa holder. In which case my spouse should also come back with me right?

If I ask my employer that make this as a vacation for me, in that situation also, do my spouse should come back with me or can continue work here.

what is the best solution I can find in this situtation? Please advice.

Only short stay by L2 are allowed while primary L1 is not in US. A few weeks are fine but if you stay for months outside US then you should take your dependents on L2 along with you. This is my opinion do seek expert opinion too.
