  • L1B to H1B

I am currently on L1B visa which will expire in Nov'12 and my company has filed an H1B with COS for me.

Question: Once the COS is approved and my status changes to H1B from L1B, will my salary be changed? Do H1B gets more salary than L1B?

Salaries and policies vary from one company to another, you need to ask this question to your HR. On a personal opinion front, if you will be doing the same work on H1 that you are doing on L1 then I don't think the compensation will change much.

Your salary should be as per the approved LCA. Get a copy of the approved LCA for H1B and check the salary mentioned there. You should NOT get paid less than the approved LCA. That is the only criteria. Whether you work in L1 or H1B has no difference.
