L VISA RENEWAL: US Councel Kolkatta OR Hyderabad

Hello, My state of residency is Orissa, and for state orissa, us councel should be Hyderabad . My current visa is expired in Dec 2011. My question are below:

1. Can I schedule my visa appoint through VFS in US councel Kolkatta instead of Hyderabad? If VO ask, why you choose Kolkatta, then can i give them answer as, choose only for visa renewal option?

2. For visa renewal option during appoint through VFS, I found two different criteria.
2A. In immehelp site, it is written as "Applicants attending the interview at the US councel Kolkatta do not have an option to select the option for visa renewal, they may opt for a regular interview".
2B. However, In VFS site, it is written as "Applicants attending the interview at the US councel in Hyderabad do not have an option to select the option for visa renewal, they may opt for a regular interview".

3. From above two criteria, which one is most correct? Also in VFS site, if we select Hyderabad, visa renewal option dis-appered, however if we select kolkatta, there is option to select visa renewal?

4. during filling of DS160, in work/education/training details, my current employer is in US company A, my parent company in India is B. I transferred from my parent company B india to company A in US in 2009. So my question is "Can I mentioned current employer A and previous employer name as B in DS160? OR i have to mentioned current A and previous employer C (which was a diffrent company, before B) and not mention anything about company B"

I think L1 applications are only received at Chennai. Check VFS website.

L1 is non-immigrant visa, I can go to any US councel. Can anybody answer my earlier question?

Well, in that case go to any U.S consulate in India and learn for yourself. Like mentioned call VFS help desk and talk to them to get it clarified. Here is the latest info on L1 blanket. Whether you want to take it or not is up to you.

CHENNAI: From December 1, the U.S Consulate General here will be the only centre in the country to receive and process blanket L category visas meant for managers, executives or specialised knowledge professionals transferring within their company, a US diplomat said today.

"The Consulate General in Chennai will be the US Mission to India's sole blanket L category visa acceptance and processing centre. Companies throughout India will be requested to send blanket L applicants exclusively to Chennai for visa interviews," Chief of Consular services at the US Consulate General here Nicolas Manring told reporters.

L1 is non-immigrant visa, I can go to any US councel. Can anybody answer my earlier question?

>>> L1 is intra company transfer. So your indian employer and U.s employer are the same company, just different entities. So your previous employer is C and not B.
