L1 Extension / L2 Stamping

I am in US with L1B Visa and received the extension from USCIS recently. My family is in India, and Planning to send them for L2 Visa stamping now. Just wanted to know the best option a) Do I need to go to India and get my extension stamping along with L2 Family Stamping or b) I can simply ask my family to go for L2 Visa.

All your help will be appreciated.
