Registering a DBA as an Australian

I wish to register a DBA in the US, what kind of visa would I need to apply
for in order to do that? I am an Australian citizen.

Any visa which allows you to legally enter the U.S. will position you to register a business DBA. There are no local municipality citizenship or legal residency requirements for someone registering a DBA in a U.S. city or county.

Probably not. There is an EIN, Employer ID number,for business returns. There is a TIN, Taxpayer Identification Number, for those ineligible for SSN's, for filin personal income tax returns. And there is an SSN, Social Security Number, for those with visas or status allowing them to legally work.
