I live in USA, and have a situation to travel to India. I have approved visa, but not stamped in my passport. I am writing this post to clarify below questions. Please help with answers

1. Are dropbox allowed now?
2. If not, how long is it taking to get an appointment for interview?
3. which US consulate center in India is having appointments quickly.
4. If I have to request for emergency visa appointment, what should be the criteria.

1. Are dropbox allowed now?
Answer: Only for limited cases (recent visa renewals). Most people need interview.

2. If not, how long is it taking to get an appointment for interview?
Answer: Very long. Can be months to 1+ year.

3. which US consulate center in India is having appointments quickly.
Answer: No clear fastest. All have delays. availability keeps changing.

4. If I have to request for emergency visa appointment, what should be the criteria.
Answer: Only for serious reasons (medical, death, urgent business). Not for normal travel.
