  • Which Consulate should I appear for F1 visa Interview

    Hi All,
I hail from western part of India. Currently, I am living in Netherlands since past 1 and 1/2 years pursuing Master studies. I am admitted to a PhD program in US which will start this Fall.
Now, I my wondering where shall I appear for F1 VISA interview. Should I go back to India and appear for an interview at Mumbai consulate or at the consulate in Amsterdam, Netherlands?
If any one has any idea than please guide me. Your inputs will be very helpful and decisive for me. And I will be grateful to you for the same.
    Thank you,
    Sincerely,
    AK

Technically you can apply anywhere, but you must have more ties to India than Netherlands right?
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Yes, I am more tied to India than Netherlands. I am in Netherlands only for MSc studies.
Also, I am admitted to Stanford. Do you think this knowledge can ease getting F1 visa approved. Or University status does not matter to VISA officer.

      Please do let me know.

      Regards,
      AK

Yes, getting admitted to a reputed university is certainly a positive thing.
