OPT Extension Approval after current OPT expires

I am currently on my OPT, which is going to expire on Feb 28. I applied for STEM extension in December 2013, but still showing on initial review.

My question is if my STEM extension approval doesn't come before Feb 28, will I be able to work until I get any decision from USCIS?
