  • Student visa from Europe , Indian resident .

    Hi,

I am resident of India and presently residing in Czech republic holding long term residence permit for past 7 months. I work for a private IT organisation , My visa is valid until Feb 2016 .
My wife has joined me recently for 1month as dependent visa .Her Visa is vaild until Sep. My wife is now willing to purse Masters in USA.

What are the favourable cases of F VISA granted ? Is it good to apply from Czech republic or India is recommended ?

Since I been here for only 7months and has valid funds for sponsor for my wife Visa. I am wondering chances for Visa approval.

    Regards,
    DK.

Nonimmigrant visa approval is somewhat low in both India and the Czech Republic.

That said, if your wife has more than enough cash to pay for education in the USA, she has favorable chances to be issued the visa. It helps that she is married to you - it is less likely that she will abandon you and overstay her visa.

She should apply for the visa at the consulate nearest where she resides. From your description, she now resides with you in the Czech Republic.

      Many Thanks for info.

We actually have a slow and study plan to settle in US. Since H1 /B has become complicated nowdays. Meantime I want my wife to purse masters.
She is into Medicine and has good future in her career. Her target is to purse DDAS and requires few steps to clear prior which would probably take 5yrs.

Pursing master is not real target but we are expecting Visa status for now.

      My question ..

She has scored IELTS 6.5 . So is it fine to get visa if we apply for normal colleges (easy way to get i20) or only apply reputed college / universities ?
For reputed college . GRE and also TOEFL needed its again time consuming!! .

      Regards,
      DK

Folks who wants to settle in the US are the least likely to be given student visas. I do see plenty of foreign students at community colleges, so it appears that the reputation of the institution is not a factor in awarding student visas. The criteria is (1) financial means to support yourself throughout the educational program and (2) intent to return home afterwards.

          Hi,

Since primary thing is to clear steps before applying for Medicine specialist. I wish my wife to clear Steps.
I am actually thinking to apply Visit visa and let my wife clear Medicine steps instead of directly applying to Masters . Am I going in right direction ?.
And the reason is again applying for i20, TOEFL ,GRE etc...which would be of no use if she does nt clear the steps (Probability).

          Regards,
          DK

DK, aliens usually travel to the United States for the USMLE exams on a tourist visa, B-2.

You always have to tell the truth. She is more likely to get the visa to take the USMLE than she is to get a visa to go visit friends, anyway.
