  • Chances for F-1 after Canadian SP refusal

    Hi, everybody.
I need your opinion, will Canadian Student Visa refusal (three consecutive refusals) affect my chances for getting F-1. US and Canada share one visa database, so they certainly will see concerns that CIC had towards my application, but the reason was unfounded: I was in Germany on work visa 2 years ago and CIC wrote, that I don't have enough ties to homecountry, because of that (sick!).
So, what are your thoughts: will this make getting F1 impossible or I can hope, that US visa officer will evaluate my application independently?

Yes, they can see the past refusals, however, each application is independent of the others. It will depend mostly on your current situation. Your applying for an F1, so they will look at all of your information regarding the school/university you will attend, personal info etc., but again they will look for strong ties to home country. The question the visa officers are always asking themselves, is why would this person not try to immigrate? And if they cannot come up with a good reason for you not to, then it could certainly be denied, but you won't know for sure until you apply.

      Thanks for your opinion, Trinity71.
Well, I hope that if not taking 3 unsuccessful applications to Canada my profile is strong. A lot of travels to Europe in such countries as Finland, Germany, Czech Republic and UK. Soon will add France visa to this list. Stable job with more than average income for my homecountry. And temporary residency in Germany in the past, without overstays or change of status. I would say that my profile is stronger than average F1 applicant, however, Canadians thought otherwise and that upsets me.
