On F-1 Visa and Going to Graduate and Get Married

So, I'm currently on an F-1 Visa and am going to graduate from my college in December, while my girlfriend is graduating in May. We want to get married in January and I want to be able stay in the US in order to wait for her to finish her course. We want to the leave the country after she graduates and so (at least for right now) do not wish to apply for a Green Card yet. What's the best option for me to be able to stay in the country until she finishes? I've been looking at maybe applying for an OPT and working for six months while she continues College, would this be a viable option?
