I got my F1 visa approved in July in an overseas Consulate, however I traveled back to the US on a L2 visa more that 30 days before the school started and therefore I was admitted under the L2 visa, I'm attending College under the L2 Visa but would like to change to F1 for OPT, Can I leave the country and re-enter under the F1 visa which is still valid?, do I need a new I20 Form?

Yes you can. No, as long as the current I20 is valid, and properly attested by the University, you should be fine.Originally posted by trujilj2 View PostI got my F1 visa approved in July in an overseas Consulate, however I traveled back to the US on a L2 visa more that 30 days before the school started and therefore I was admitted under the L2 visa, I'm attending College under the L2 Visa but would like to change to F1 for OPT, Can I leave the country and re-enter under the F1 visa which is still valid?, do I need a new I20 Form?Just an opinion; Not legal advice.
