I'm currently a F1 student at a 4 year university in California. I moved to the US when I was 5 due to my dad's job, and have been living here for the past 16 years. I had an E1 visa until earlier this year, but had to switch to F1 upon turning 21.
Next month, I'm going back to my home country and have to apply for a visa there to come back to the US. I'm having problem documenting ties to my home country since I haven't lived there in a long time.
My family (parents, brother) currently lives in the US. They're all E1 and are in the process of obtaining a green card through my dad's employer. I have also applied for the DV lottery in the past.
I know all of this is going to work against me, and I'm quite worried. I honestly have every intention of returning to my home country after graduation and finding a job there. I just don't have any documents to back that up. Is it a huge risk in my situation to leave the US now?
