f1 visa expiration please help

hi,
i'm studying in the US ---i'm a Romanian citizen---on an F-1 visa...my I-20 is valid, so is my passport, but my visa is expiring in Feb, and i won't be traveling home until June in order to get a new one!!!
am i gonna be in trouble at the airport? i heard abt transit visas...do i need one?
am i gonna be in trouble at the embassy also?

my international student director assures me i will be fine, she even told me i didn't have to go home especially for the visa, if i don't plan to go home. i am getting cold feet though as the expiration date is getting close....

Do not get stressed out~
As long as you got a valid I-20 and a letter from a school explaining the situation and your decision to travel back home and get a new visa you will be fine.
I have done that before...and there was not a single question at the embassy.
