I have completed MS in CS (US) and working on OPT which expires during March 2012. Now, I am changing the job and want to apply for extension as it usually takes about 60-90 days for approval.
My new company is e-verified and offering a job in the field of my study.
But my school authorities have informed me that they are not able to do this process as the extension button has not been activated and that they will contact the USCIS for updating my data . But I am not getting any positive reply from them.My degree and degree code is in the STEM list.
My question is, has this happened earlier to anyone else , if so what was the solution to apply for renewal?Can I contact the USCIS directly ? Will there be any problems later, if I do?
can anyone tell me how to get the renewal of my OPT.. am worried am running out of time..
