  • TN Employer name is not mentioned on passport visa I94 stamp

I am a Canadian Citizen currently in USA working on TN visa for Employer ‘B’ .

I got approval for TN visa on July 19,2022 for 3 years to work with Employer ‘A’. But I94 validity was for 1 year as my passport was expiring .
Later I got another TN visa on July 29.2022 for 3 years to work with Employer B with i94 validity for 1 year only . I was told by CBP officer to come back again after I renew my passport to transfer the TN visa on new passport .

Yesterday I went to CBP location and provided the employer B support letter and request to extend the I94 validity on new passport .
CBP officer stamped my passport with I94 validity till July 18, 2025 and put employer name as ‘A’ instead of B.

As my initial TN was approved for 3 years for both employer A and B , will there be any issue if my new passport only have Employer ‘A’ mentioned for TN visa?
Do I need to get it corrected in my passport I94 stamp to put employer B name also?

Given the potential impact on your immigration status and employment, it's advisable to consult an immigration attorney. They can provide guidance on the best course of action, whether it involves contacting the relevant authorities or taking additional steps to rectify the situation. screen mirroring realme Keep copies of all relevant documents, including your TN visa approvals, I-94 records, support letters from both employers, and any communication with CBP or USCIS. These documents can be important evidence if you need to demonstrate your employment history in the future. You could reach out to CBP or USCIS to explain the situation and request clarification. They may provide guidance on whether the I-94 record needs to be corrected to accurately reflect your current employment with Employer B.
