Transit VISA for Brussels?

Hi,

My wife and myself are planning to visit India in the next 7 days on Advance Parole. We are travelling from New York to Bangalore via Brussels.
Do we need a transit VISA for brussels? If yes, how long does it take to process the transit VISA. In one of forums i read it might take upto 14 days! Is this true?
Anyone know any information about this? Please help
