transit US with a valid DS 2019?

Dear Immihelp

I was on a J-1 visa that expired June 30. I am leaving the US in three days and then will be flying to Haiti via Miami on July 15. While my US visa has expired, my DS-2019 will still be valid while transiting. Could I transit the US with my DS-2019?
