Travelling in transit while attempting to leave the US with expired ESTA

I have overstayed my ESTA by around 2 months and I'll be flying out of the USA on the 3rd September, my flight is booked from Detroit to Chicago, then Chicago to London. Will I have any issues with the transit at O'hare, or any issues boarding in Detroit for a flight going to another US city? Or will I be able to leave without any problems?
