  • Help! ESTA still pending after 72 hours

My ESTA is still "Authorization Pending" after 72 hours. I had my H1 221g-ed for employer related documentation requirement during Feb 2007 which i didn't follow-up and let it expire. Due to this, i answered the "visa denial" question in affirmative in my ESTA submission.

Last year (Jan 2011), i submitted one ESTA but didn't state my earlier h1 visa 221g details and got my ESTA approved. During secondary screening in US i was told by CBP officer that this should be stated in the ESTA request but he let me in to US since i am under new employer and going there for a conference. He asked me to put in a new ESTA once i go back to my country. That's the reason why i submitted the above request last Wednesday but still shows pending after 72 hours (almost 90 hours now).

Is this normal? or my 221g details are being checked. The CBP officer who let me in last year should have stated all those details in the system. Not sure why there is a delay.

    Please advice your view.

      Twinjoy,

I am wondering what you did. Was your travel authorised or not?? I am now applying for B2 visa for US. Please do let me know what action you take.

        ESTA more than 72 hours

I just want to post my experience for whoever having the similar issue. My ESTA had also been in the pending status after 72 hours. I was panicked! I couldn't find anybody with the similar situation except in this thread. And there was no answer... After all I waited for 120 hours, it's finally got approved.
My H1 application was rejected about 5 years ago, so I answered Yes on one of those questions. Well well, I hope everyone's application goes smooth. Don't loose hope even if the process takes longer. Good Luck Everyone!
