  • hi friends, needed infor abt B1/B2 visa reapply and wait period

    hi friends,

i am visitor to usa, i got 3 months visitors visa with single entry, i need to apply again for visa as my visa will expires at end of this month. i am india citizen.

how much time i have to wait for re-applying fresh visitor B1/B2 visa, as i need to re-enter again for attending interviews. is there any specific wait period for reapplying fresh visitors visa after going to home country, india.

and i am not extending i-94 as i was told that i may face difficulties for reapplying in india.

    ur help is greatly appreciated.

    thankyou

There is no specific wait period required by the embassy.
But in their own interest, visitors should normally keep a distance of a few months between a return and an application so the consulars do
    not suspect you of desperation.

Attending interviews is not visiting; it is business(B1).
Did the inspector stamp B1 or a B2 on your white card when you entered?

      hi skk

      hi ,

they stamped B1 on my i-94, white card, what does it mean, is it okay if i apply immediatly after going to my home country. because i need to apply immediatly as i need to do groud work for interview.

ur input is greatly apprecaited, thanks

B1 is business, B2 is visitor.

Business as purpose may be justified for another app so soon
but a visitor will not be.

what did you tell the consular as the purpose of visit, when you got the visa?
And if your business purpose now is the same , you can justify
another application so soon with a real need to attend to that business again.

Do not forget to take to the interview the evidence showing you attended to that business in US.
And take all other evidence of ties to home country that you used last time.

          hi skk

many thanks for ur input, u r very helpful, while i have applied at embassy, i told them to appear for exam in united states. i am taking exam in this month, they gave b1/b2 visa on passport.

so i think i am qualified for applying visa again immediatly, they typed annotation stating that appearing for exam, so i will appear for visa inteview after going there.

many thanks for ur advice, if anything to improve my profile, guide me

          best wishes

Nice to correspond with you. I am a doc too but quite senior.

My advice is ; since you will return in August, wait till you get your
results and some interview calls before applying for the visa.
Because if you say your purpose is to go for interviews, they will
ask for your exam results and the interview call letters.

                good luck

I guess you can. Since the purpose of your visit is the same, it does not
                    matter.

is it true that even after getting multiple entry u need to go for another interview for second trip/?? i cant remember my friends doing it!!they simply went for interviews(may be there were no annotations)

secondly, while filling my form ds 156 i mentioned that my purpose of travel is step 2 cs.in the column "do u intend to study/work in us? if yes, mention the institute etc "" i wrote "no" as i am going just to take exams!!
                          is this okay???
