Additional docs required for parent tourist visa...

We are supposed to call my Father-in-law to visit us soon on tourist visa. While preparing for docs required for visa, I have encountered with a bit problem. Actually the name of my wife's father on my wife's passport is with his last name as his "Caste name" but in her father's own passport his name is with last name as his "Sub-caste name" instead of the "Caste name". So to match her father's name on her passport with the name on the her father's own passport , just because of last names are different, i need help.
What kind of affidevit and other documents he needs to present before US consulate to verify that the person(father) is same?
Need help urgently, would be grateful for your suggestions. Thanks.
