  • Visitor Visa Denied due to extended stay - what can be done to get a visa this time?

    Hello,

My mother travelled to the USA in 99 and stayed for 12 months instead of the 6 months. She stayed longer, after getting permission for extension from the respective authorities. She applied again for a visitor visa in 2003 and the application was rejected.

We intend to travel for two weeks for a family vacation. What do we need to do, or what documents should she submit, so her chances of getting a visa are high this time?

    Thanks
    Radha

Not much can be done. By staying extraordinarily long on a B1/b2 one demonstrates not enough ties to home country. You can apply and hope for a better result next time but I see a grim possibility of the same.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
