Visitor Visa

I am a US Citizen and my wife is on a K3 awaiting adjustment of status. Its been 2 + years since she is in the US. Last month we had a baby boy. It was a difficult birth. At present I am the only one who is taking care of the new born and the mother. My vaccation is over and I am back at work, and I am struggling trying to provide the proper attention and care for the mother and baby. The only family member who is available to come and stay with us for a couple of months is a niece from Bombay. She is an officer in a private bank, single and 26 years of age. She is wanting to take a sabbatical for 90 days from work, to come and help us out. I am afraid that the US consulate in Bombay would definitely reject her visa application because of the fact that she is a woman, single and 26 years old. what would be a best approch to get a visa for her. I am desperate, and I need some family member to be beside my wife to help her,and she is the only one available. I am open to any suggestions.

As long as she can show strong ties to India, and financial support for her stay in the USA...it may not be a problem. Just saying she has a job waiting in India may not convince the officer that she will return, given her age and marital status. The key is to convince the consul officer that her stay will be temporary in nature, and she will return to India after 3 months. Purpose of visit should be tourism and visiting family members.

Photo For Parents (very Urgent)

Hi has anyone ever had problems with the photo taken for the forms. My parents have got a photo taken but it has a hairline black border . Will that be fine or do we need to take new ones. The background is white.

It is not that young single people do not get visas but
she must prove that her visit is really important for HER. Coming to help your wife out or for a casual visit are not good enough reasons.

If she can find a business reason of her own like a short training period related to her job or to attend a conference related to banking , it could work.

Hi,
Whatever u do, don't ever put baby-sitting or post-natal care anywhere on her application!
Mention only 3 months or lesser for the duration of stay.
And ofcourse, finding any other good reason apart from visiting relatives, that is related to her employment will be good only if she is able to get relevant papers for the same.
