  • Get early Appointment Date

    Hello,

I am pregnant and due on Sept 30th 2005, my mom needs a visa.

She has got an appointment date of Oct 5th 2005 at the Mumbai consulate. Is there any way she can get an earlier date ?

Can sending a letter from my doctor help ?

Also how many days after the interview does the visa get issued, is it possible to pick up the passport personally to save some time or is it compulsory to receive the passport via courier ?

    Thank you for your time.

    1. there is no way to get early appointment.
    2. If you get Dr letter, they will find out that you are pregnant and visa will be rejected.
    3. No personal pickup.

      immihelp,

I already submitted 156 form where the purpose of the trip is pregnancy help so do you think visa will be rejected? If so why, what is wrong in being pregnant?

i'm providing a letter where it says that I need my mom for moral support because I was given some non recomended shot by nurse while i'm pregnant. Due to the nurse's error it caused me lot of stress. I'm also thinking of sending official letter from hospital which states that error. I also mentioned that once my situation is normal she will visit lot of places for tourism... and she will meet my in-laws whom she never met.

From the above what do you think my chances are?

      Please let me know,

      Thanks in advance,

The purpsoe of a B1 visa is only tourism not pregnancy. US offers all services for pregnant women and hence your mothers visa will be rejected. As per mental stress there are lot of pyschiatrists in US.

Still there is time my mom's interview is in the end of aug. What do you advise? should i send letters to consulate not mentioning pregnancy at all? Should i ask my mom not to mention pregnancy at all? What would be the consequences of the above?
Note: I already mentioned pregnacy in 156 form.

            Please let me know,

            Thanks again.

you should fill all the forms (156 and 134, invitation letters etc) stating purpose of trip as tourism and visiting you only, do not mention pregnancy in the papers anywhere. But when the counslar asks if you are pregnant, your mother should not lie. Just make it clear that the purpose of trip is tourism and not pregnancy help.

If I would have know before taking appointment I would'nt have mentioned pregnancy at all but now I cannot change 156 form because its been already submitted.. in mumbai they take it in advance.

If you have any suggesion for my current situation then please let me know.

Anyway thanks a lot for your response atleast it would help other readers who can avoid this kind of situation where i'm.
