Hi,
I am from India and I have applied for a Schengen Visa (Tourist Visa) for April 2013 to the Belgium Consulate. I planned to travel there alone there and backpack around Europe with a friend who studies there.
I had provided a confirmed booking at a hotel as was asked by them, which was cancelable and refundable.
They recently called and asked me to submit a prepaid, non-refundable, non-cancelable hotel booking instead. I can't provide them that as it is too expensive, without first getting the visa, and I needed the flexibility in hotel bookings to be able to travel around. So for the time being, my application is on Hold, pending more documents.
I now want to withdraw my application. But I am worried I will get some stamp on my passport. A 'reject stamp' or something else. Can anyone shed some light on what would happen if I withdraw my application now? I am very confused and I don't want a reject stamp on my passport.
