  • Vistor Visa for my Parents

    Hi,
I am really tensed about the situation that I am facing.

I came to US on H1-B just 4 months back and I clearly do not have any bank balance or history to sponsor my parents. My uncle who is staying here from last 5.5 years sponsored visa for them along with my brother who is studying final year MBBS in India. My uncle has provided all the documents clearly and my parents have applied visa thru an agent and their interview date is on April 7th and 8th.

The problem is, The agent did not give my details anywhere in the form. Under the field, Do you have any immediate relatives, not including parents in the US? The answer is NO. Nowhere there is my name mentioned. My concern is, what should they answer when asked about children's? Should they tell my details ? If not, what will be the further consequences ?

Please guide me on my concern.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rakesh.

Not being truthful about relatives in US can constitute misrepresentation.

But do not be tense. it can be amended. They can amend their DS 160 till before the biometrics date.

Also, remember that they must leave ties in INdia to be successful .
If they are getting sponsorship from your uncle , it tells the officer they have weak financial ties.
And if they do not leave any family ties behind ( the whole family coming) , it can be a big negative.

      Hi,

      Thanks for the reply.
I would definitely change the DS-160 form to add my name in it. If I do so, will the interviewer ask why did uncle sponsor and why din't I ?

My dad has agriculture land and a business in India. I hope this proof is enough to convince the interviewer. Along with this he will show property/FD documents.
And my brother is in final year college and he would be getting letter from college stating his study is incomplete.

Are these enough? Or Should we drop my brother's application and get only parents go with the interview?
(Brother has no plans of visiting anytime soon in 2-3 yrs.)

      Regards,
      Rakesh.

        Another very important factor;
They have to mention that they are mainly visiting your uncle because you just went there,
mainly visiting you won't go down well.

What is your dad's yearly income from all sources? If it is 10L + then he should show self funding.
They do not look at FD/property docs.
They only ask about INCOME. If one answers a strong figure, that is a decision maker.

I suggest you leave your brother out. Chances are he won't get it. (young+ sinngle+ medical prof.)
