Name on Passport and Visa

Hi all,

I just have a very quick question. I had applied for a new passport recently with my US visa in the old passport. I heard that we can still travel with the US visa by making sure that the old passport is available for presentation. I hope this is correct. Would be great to confirm again.

Secondly, in my new passport, there are two sections for name - "Surname" and "Given Name", where my full name has been typed out under the "Given Name" section with my surname first and first name second.
In my visa, the surname and first names are under the respective category. Just to show you exactly, if my first name is John and surname is Smith:

In my new passport:

Surname -
Given Name - Smith John

In the Visa -

Surname - Smith
Given Name - John

Even thought there is no spelling mistake or any other errors as such, just wondering if this will create an issue or questions. I am a bit concerned about this. Will be really grateful if this can be clarified.

Staple your old passport (the one with the visa) to the new one, its ok to like this. I don't see the problem as long as the name matches in both (visa& passport) but to be sure call USCIS.

Thanks so much! Yea, everything is exactly the same, only the surname has been added to the given name instead of in its own category. I've sent an email to USCIS.

If anybody else can also clarify, that would be highly appreciated.
