  • Have I good chance ?

    Hi all, I've applied with my mother few months ago for B1/B2 visa as we wanted to visit Orlando, FL.
    We explained the reason of visit (Disney) and everything to the officer and he asked my mother about her salary, work and Bank account, then asked me about my study and plane after graduating, it All seems good (as we have a good statue here) then he asked about former travels out of Egypt said: "have you traveled out of Egypt in last 10 years”, answer was “No", then he asked if there was any travel older than 10 years? My mother had one travel (not to U.S or Europe) when she was 9 years only.
    Then he denied the visa for both of us! For 214B! (We're really NOT planning to Immigrate!)
    However, we have changed or destination to Dubai (7 days) and then back to Cairo and stay 3 weeks (for my exams) and then go to Istanbul (3 days)
    We did visited Dubai, but as one of my mother's family had a little accident we didn't made Istanbul visit (but I've the visa on my passport).
    however, my mother have a job offer for 1 year in the same country (UAE ), if she accepted this offer and then we Applied for visa there (for next vacation) , will they take the former travel to the same country (UAE) in positive count ? And will they count unused Turkish visa?
    Or is it better for us to visit an European country first then try with U.S?
    I actually had a psychological complex caused by last time refusal, and I don't want to have this feeling again.
    Please help, Thanks!

    Travels only have secondary importance.
    Primary reason for denial is never lack of travel.
    It is usually lack of family or income ties.

    Please answer;
    *What about your dad?
    *Do you have any relatives in US?
    *Do you have any bro/sis ? where are they?
    *What does your mother do in Egypt? What is her income in US$ roughly?
    * If she will work in UAE will she leave her
    Egypt job?
    * what was your answer to future plan?

        See the main reason was lack of family and strong financial /work ties ;

        When you both travel to US , you are leaving no family ties behind ( no husband, no other kids) ,
        your mother has work but nothing she can't leave ( she is already planning
        to leave that for UAE job). YOu are young and single so very suspect not to return.

        If You apply in UAE, the above things will remain the same. Plus your mother's work history will be very short there, so that can be of concern.

        You can try though ; travel to europe will help but nothing is guaranteed .
