Hi,
I'm going to study in boston late August and my mother wants to come visit me sometimes during my stay. She wents several times in United States (nearly 10 times) but she applied from cote d'ivoire (in Africa). Now we are in France (I am a french citizen and she is Ivorian but has a french permanent residentship). So she will apply in the US embassy in Paris.
However, i want to be sure she meets all requirements for the B2 visa. She doesn't have a job but doesn't look for one currently. Will this be a problem for obtain the visa ? She gets incomes from my father and also some allowance from the french state. She's going to come visit me only twice per years and just for 2 or 3 weeks each times. She will stay at the condo i will rent for me. Should i make a letter of invitation for my mother ? Is it okay to do that as a student ? I read those who make letters of invitation have to proove they're able to support all the needs of the sponsored people. I'm student, i don't work of course and i'm financially supported by my father. Can a financially sponsored person financially sponsor himself another person ?
Actually, my mother already got other U.S. visas (always B2). the last one was issued ( from us embassy in cote d'ivoire) in 2001 and expired in 2011. She travelled in U.S many times between 1995 and 2006(last travel at this time). she never overstayed. So do you think it won't be a problem for her to obtain her visa ?
thank you.
