  • DS-160 form mistake

    Hi,

My parent's OFC and Consular appointment have been scheduled. However, there are small mistakes in DS-160 form.
    a) There is a section of 'Languages Known'. My mother forgot to add 'English' there. Infact, she is saying that she added but it did not reflect at the confirmation page.
    b) Another thing is that my father's father's/mother's name and mother's father's/mother's name in the passport is Given Name X Surname<Blank>. However, in DS-160 we have filled given name X and Surname <We gave the actual surname>. We did not want to check 'Do not remember' so gave actual surname.

Are these big mistakes or can these be acceptable?

    a) If asked your mother can say that she missed it. This is not a big thing so should be fine, infact VO wont even bother about it.

    b) In "Family Information: Relatives" section it does not say that the details you enter for applicant's father and mother should match with what is mentioned in the passport so this should be fine.

For eg. On page 1 where applicant's details are captured, there is a clear message on the top which says "NOTE: Data on this page must match the information as it is written in your passport". There is no such message in "Family Information: Relatives" section
